ASD Provision

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has a range of specialist provision for children and young people with an ASD, including:

1.    The ASD Outreach Service

The ASD Outreach Service supports both mainstream schools and families to ensure that children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs) in mainstream educational provision achieve their potential and have access to the specialist interventions that might be on offer within a specialist setting.

The service is broadly divided into an offer to schools which includes:

  • creating Personal Learning Plans to match individual children’s learning needs
  • support from a specialist outreach worker
  • specialist advice from a specialist teacher, Occupational Therapist, or Speech and Language Therapist
  • provision of specialist practical resources such as visual timetables and work stations.
  • training for staff at a whole school level and for individual staff: Click here for more details:  https://servicestoschools.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/courses/sen

And an offer to families which includes:

  • training packages for parents including online training courses
  • a structured support programme for transitions.
  • provision of specialist resources to support at home
  • regular parent courses including Early Bird (0-8) and Cygnet (8+)
