H.A.L.O (Handicapped Activities and Leisure Organisation)

Handicapped Activities and Leisure Organisation, commonly known as H.A.L.O., is a voluntary organisation based in Middle Park Avenue, Eltham. The club was started over 29 years ago, originally with only a few members, based in people's homes, with the aim to give the member's parents / carers, a break. The club started to grow as the word spread, so we then hired Middle Park Community Centre hall. We now cater for up to 50 members, some who have been there from the beginning. Their ages range between 8 and 55 years.

We have both physically and mentally disabled members. We have all disabilities, such as deaf, blind, Downs Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and those who suffer with epilepsy or heart problems. Most members have more than one of these disabilities.
