Carer's Peer Support Service
The carer's peer support service has been developed to help carers to become more resilient, discover other carers, resources and receive support in a number of ways.
Carer services are already established in the borough; however the peer support service will work in partnership with other agencies to enable carers to develop networks. Specifically amongst other carers of people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders.
The service is designed to facilitate peer and self-support. Service outcomes are focused on promoting emotional and physical wellbeing; encouraging proactive approaches to manage and prevent crisis; and offering signposting, information and referral to specialist services.
