HEAT CLUB (Homework, Eating, Activities, Term Time)
Half an hour of an extra-curricular activity such as gardening, boxing, or cooking
An hour of supervised quiet time to allow children to get their homework done with assistance if needed
A hot meal before heading home
The aims of this initiative are:
· To help children by giving them a quiet and warm space to get their homework done. A space that doesn’t have the pressure of the school walls, nor the distractions of the home ones
· To expand children’s horizons by providing extra-curricular activities that they may not have the opportunity to do otherwise or for those who don’t fit into any on offer at school
· To help families in the same way as a breakfast club, by taking the pressure of dinner off their shoulders
· To provide a safe and warm space for students after school to be until their parents are ready to take them home
