Maternity Services and DVA

Midwives in the Maternity Service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust make routine inquiries regarding domestic violence (DV) when women access the service. This enables identification of where DV is occuring and an appropriate response or referral-on. It is a particularly important service given women's increased risk of DV during pregnancy.
