The exact package offered will depend the on the level and complexity of your child’s need.

The Early Years Inclusion Team can:

Support the setting in adapting their curriculum and the activities they offer to meet the needs of your child. This support may include modelling of strategies and planning targeted support for example.

We will help them to focus on outcomes and progress. We will work with you and the settings to ensure your child makes the best progress and to ensure this is documented.

All settings should adopt a graduated approach with four stages of action, assess, plan, do and review. Normally we will support settings with a Team Around the Child (TAC) approach that aims to keep your child and family at the centre.

We will work with you, your child’s current setting and their allocated school to make the move into school well managed and positive experience.

All input is available to your child, if needed, regardless of whether he/she has it specified in an Education Health and Care Plan.

We will work with you and setting staff to try and understand your child’s views, thoughts and feelings. If your child cannot express these verbally, we will try and find other ways for them to express themselves. We will take their physical and emotional wellbeing into account at all times.

A specific package offered to you and your child will be discussed and agreed with the setting and you. We may advise on resources to promote inclusive practice, and may provide, for example, symbols for whole group use (e.g. song cards).

All input is available to your child, if needed, regardless of whether he/she has it specified in an Education Health and Care Plan.

Identified training requirements may be very specific and tailored to your child’s needs.
