The Woodcraft Folk
Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, which aims to develop self-confidence and activity in society, with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and co-operation.
Activities include a varied programme of crafts, noisy games, drama, badgework, crafts and singing. There is also a strong focus on hiking, hostelling and camping at weekends and holiday periods.
Children are divided into age groups. 0-5s are Woodchips; children age 6-9 are known as Elfins; young people aged 10-12 are Pioneers; young people aged 13-15 are Venturers and over 16s are District Fellows, generally known as DFs.
