AbilityNet Volunteers

AbilityNet supports people of any age, living with any disability or impairment to use technology to achieve their goals at home, at work and in education.

We do this by providing specialist advice services, free information resources and by helping to build a more accessible digital world.

We have a nationwide network of over 200 volunteers with IT skills who provide free assistance to disabled and older people in their homes.

IT can help volunteers provide free and impartial advice and assistance, to disabled and older people to resolve their computer related issues. This may include advising on hardware and software, identifying and installing suitable equipment, computer and internet security, networking problems or showing them some basic computer skills.

  • benefit from technology and disability training
  • network with a nationwide team of other IT volunteers
  • plan your volunteering around your other work and home commitments

The requirements for this role are good IT and computer skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, access to computer and email yourself and own transport or good public transport links.
