British Stammering Association (BSA)

British Stammering Association (BSA) is a charity run by people for people with a stammer. They provide unbiased information in all aspects of stammering and run projects and campaigns to improve access to therapy, education and employment.

Stammering affects around 1% of the UK adult population and is recognised as a disability under the Equalities Act. It is a neurological condition, but environmental and emotional factors can have an influence. Stammering as a condition only affects speech fluency and has no impact on intellect or any other cognitive capacity.
