Healthy Lifestyles

Looking after your body and mind can help improve both your length and quality of life.

Whether you need information and support on eating well, moving more, stopping smoking, drinking less or managing a long term condition, the Greenwich Community Directory is there for you and your loved ones.

The local children and families directory offers support for families, children and young people, from pregnancy through to teenage years.  If you’re a family wanting to make changes or access local services for help to live well then you can click here.

The Local Offer also offers support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities aged 0-25.

You can also visit the Live Well Greenwich website for more detailed information and support on these topics and much more.

Mental Wellbeing

Looking after our mental wellbeing is just as important as our physical health. There are lots of ways to do this with information and services that can be found across the Directory.

For example, being with others and feeling part of something really boosts wellbeing so why not search some of the groups at our local community centres, try volunteering or join a group walk or dance class near you? Keep an eye on our What’s On section to see what events are happening locally.  To keep your mind active try learning a new skill at a community college, for example.

We all have times in life that are difficult too, that can affect our mental and physical health.  The Directory can point you in the direction of counselling services or advocacy.  There’s also information and practical help available for worries about relationship issues, housing, employment and money, if you are struggling with a long-term condition or are a carer.

For more information and tips visit the Live Well Greenwich website.

Healthy Environments

Where we live and our living situation (including housing, work and finances), our relationships and community all affect our health and wellbeing.

Supporting safe, healthy and inclusive environments is important to make sure we all enjoy a good quality and long life. This includes staying warm and safe in winter (and indeed all year round), getting help with unhealthy relationships, housing needs, open access to parks and green spaces, cleaner air and safe and active travel.

Pollution Alerts and Reducing Exposure: airTEXT
