Become a dementia inclusive organisation

We have an ageing population and need to help everyone feel valued and included.

It may be difficult for people with dementia to act or make decisions quickly.

Small changes like relaxed cash register lanes and patient staff can make a big difference to people with dementia and others who do not want to feel rushed or pressured.

The initiative gets you to think about building a dementia inclusive environment by having:

  • more natural light
  • colour contrast interior design
  • clear signage
  • accessible spaces and facilities
  • social areas suitable for people with dementia and their friends or family to meet and chat
  • quiet areas
