Our Sensory Services team supports children and young people with Deafness or vision impairments in mainstream nurseries, mainstream schools and local special schools.

We can help schools by:

  • creating a Personal Learning Plan to match a child’s learning needs
  • giving support from a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, Qualified Teacher of Vision Impairments, outreach workers, Deaf instructor and Qualified Habilitation Specialist
  • working together with specialist teachers and other health services
  • providing specialist technology resources such as assistive listening devices
  • training for peers, individual staff or the whole school

If you are working with a child that you think needs our support, find out how to get support with Deafness or vision impairment in school.
