Our Sensory Services team supports children and young people with Deafness or vision impairments in mainstream nurseries, mainstream schools and local special schools.
We can help schools by:
- creating a Personal Learning Plan to match a child’s learning needs
- giving support from a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, Qualified Teacher of Vision Impairments, outreach workers, Deaf instructor and Qualified Habilitation Specialist
- working together with specialist teachers and other health services
- providing specialist technology resources such as assistive listening devices
- training for peers, individual staff or the whole school
