Alternative education provision in Motor Mechanics

A basic motor maintenance and personal development programme that is designed to complement the school curriculum.

It introduces learners to a range of activities and disciplines using motor vehicles with options to work on either cars or motorcycles.

This project helps address imbalances in young people’s lives, and can empower and enable them to fulfil their career ambitions.

Qualifications and education
Young people can access training for up to 16 hours a week over 4 days. This is not a school or college and does not offer full time education provision.

Students will be enrolled in a Foundation in Motor Vehicle Maintenance Programme.

Once they've completed the foundation course, they can progress to an Entry Level 3 Qualification in Introduction to Vehicle Technology (QCF). This is made up of 14 modules, based on systems in motor vehicles. This programme is Unit accredited.

As part of the requirements for the full accreditation, students will do an online assessment.

The Archway Youth Project works with its partners to offer functional skills (Maths and English Level 1 tutoring support and mentoring for students who are most in need.
This programme runs up to 2 years. All programmes are Quality Assured Awards accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI).
