The Anchor SENDFriendly Specialist School (TAS)

A specialist school for children and young people aged 2 to 25 with additional needs. They provide tailored activities that promote important skills that will help in future life. 

They have created a safe space that and in-facility and external activities that support:
  • communication and language
  • personal, social and emotional development 
  • physical development

They create a care plan to help each child maximise their full potential. The team understands SEND from a parent and professional perspective.

They have specialised rooms including:
  • a Sensory Room for relaxation and sensory development
  • an Immersion Room for dynamic, multi-sensory learning
  • a Ball Pit Room for physical development and social interaction

Classrooms are designed for small group and one-to-one instruction, ensuring focused teaching. Outdoor playground provides a space for play, exercise, and socialisation, fostering physical activity and interaction.
They provide support for children aged:
  • 2 to 5 - providing early years intense interaction focusing on the child's needs and developing ways of managing transitions
  • 6 to 11 with respite, accommodating children with high or complex needs 
  • 11 to 16 with bespoke support focused on the child's needs including sensory needs
  • 16 to 25 with developing life skills and interacting in social environments
