The Disabled Children and Young People Service (DCYPS) team support children and young people with:
- severe learning disabilities
- severe physical disabilities
- severe and profound autistic spectrum disorders
- disability arising out of serious or chronic illness
- complex health needs
- severe vision or hearing impairment
Support for families
Parents or carers of disabled children and young people are entitled to request a:
- social work assessment. This does not always lead to additional support but may help you find other services that could meet your needs
- a carer's assessment to assess your own needs if you provide a significant amount of care to a disabled child.
