  • Guide you through applying for discounts and grants.
  • Share tips & tricks to reduce your energy usage.
  • Install energy- and water-saving measures in your home that could save you up to £200.
  • Refer you to their Heat Doctor to maintain your heating system.

Energy advice phoneline, open Monday – Friday, 10am – 4:30pm.

Energy Cafes

Drop-in to one of their regular energy cafes for 1:1 in person advice. For the best advice, please bring a recent energy bill with you. This is the same support they provide over the telephone but for people who find it easier to communicate in person.

Greenwich Energy Cafes:

You can also drop in to Selce’s office in Greenwich where you will always be seen by an energy advisor, and you can discuss your queries in person. The address and times are below:
  • 1st Floor, The Forum at Greenwich, Trafalgar Road, London, SE10 9EQ. You can drop in on Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm and Wednesdays from 2pm to 5pm. This is the link if you would like to book a slot: Selce Energy Advice

The Heat Doctors
Simon and Connor (aka The Heat Doctors) are on a mission to help you understand your heating system and make it run as efficiently as possible. If you qualify for this free service, Simon can help with minor and serious problems or get more help if needed at no cost to you. You are eligible for a visit by the Heat Doctors if:
  • You are responsible for your own boiler and
  • You are a lower-income household vulnerable to the specific challenges of heating a home to safe levels in the current energy crisis.
Request a visit by clicking on this link, emailing simon@selce.org.uk, or calling 0204 566 5764.

Fuel Vouchers

SELCE can issue fuel vouchers from the fuelbank foundation:
  • These are for people in severe financial need, i.e. choosing between heating and eating. You must have a card/key that is topped up at a shop. Clients who pay their energy bills via direct debit are not eligible for fuel vouchers.
  • Clients can receive up to 3 fuel vouchers in 6 months.

Outreach
Selce also has a strong outreach service and tries to be present in the community as much as possible. As part of their outreach, they deliver:

  • Workshops: These are talks delivered by Selce to community organisations and groups. These talks can be on energy saving methods, retrofit, and more. There are also several energy saving activities involved in the workshops.
  • Pop-up Stalls: Selce can have a stall during your community event or in your community building generally where people can get energy advice.
