Overview of South East London Community Energy (Selce)
Selce is a local cooperative dedicated to generating clean energy locally, reducing energy use in homes and community buildings, and ensuring that no one gets left behind in the transition to green energy.
We offer a free impartial energy advice and advocacy for people struggling to pay their bills through 1:1 phone advice, in-person drop-in energy cafes, home visits to install measures that can reduce bills up to £200/yr and means-tested heating system repairs for anyone responsible for maintaining their own boilers.
We work in the community in several ways:

We work in the community in several ways:
- Energy cafes: These are free drop-in sessions for people looking to receive 1:1 in person energy advice for a variety of issues relating to energy in the home, bills, tariffs, and more. These can also lead to free home visits being booked in where our advisors can install energy saving measures in the home
- Energy advice workshops: Our free workshops focus on energy advice for people struggling to pay their bills and practical advice and support for people who want to make their homes more energy efficient (including access to grant-funding). However, this can be tailored to the specific group and community
- Pop-up stalls: If you have an event on at your community centre or if there is a fair coming up, we would always love to be a part of something like this! We have been involved in many similar events through stalls which advertise our service through leaflets and games!
- Front line worker information sessions: We offer sessions to organisations that want to learn more about our services and how to refer into us
