Support for children aged 0 to 19 at home and within schools, who have semi- or permanent deafness or vision impairment.
Qualified Teachers of the Deaf or Vision Impaired visit schools and homes to help meet each child’s individual needs.
They provide:

- deafness or vision awareness training and British Sign Language courses
- Specialist Outreach Workers to support teachers and families
- training by a Habilitation Specialist or Deaf Instructor
- specialist resources for schools such as low vision aids, Braille facilities, radio aids and adapted curriculum materials

You will need to be referred by an audiology or ophthalmology professional or another school or health professional if you have evidence of a clinical diagnosis.
