Special education needs and disability information, advice and support service (SENDIASS)

Free and impartial information, advice and support to all young people, children, parents and carers of children aged 0 to 25 who have or may have Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND). 

The support is provided via phone, email, and in-person.

The support includes:

• advocacy about your child's education
• help to understand letters and reports from schools
• help to write SEND-related letters
• accompaniment to school meetings
• support with disagreements and appeals
• signposting to other services
• liaising with other children’s services (with permission)
• organising and hosting information events throughout the borough
• support for young people’s future education and goals

Young people, children and parents or carers are encouraged to refer themselves to this service. 

They can also give consent to professionals they are already working with, to contact the service on their behalf. 

The only criteria is that the young person or child must live in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
