Support for new and existing refugees

Reconnection is a UK-based organisation set up to support refugees from the moment they arrive in the country. They aim to help refugees settle into their new lives in a new country and give them a chance to be included in social activities.

Reconnection is all about building a sense of belonging among refugees so they can feel that they are part of their community.

They offer:
  • advice
  • referrals and signposting
  • advocacy
  • cultural activities
  • language interpretation services for refugees

Some of their more specific projects include:
  • coffee chat shops across the UK, to help refugees meet people and improve their communication skills
  • orientation programmes, to help refugees settle into the UK and understand how things work here
  • support programmes for young refugees, who may or may not have family in the UK
