The Woodcraft Folk
An educational movement that helps children and young people develop self-confidence and activity in society. It aims to build a world based on equality, friendship, peace and co-operation.
Activities include a varied programme of crafts, noisy games, drama, badgework, crafts and singing. There is also a strong focus on hiking, hostelling and camping at weekends and holiday periods.
Children are divided into age groups:

Children are divided into age groups:
- Children aged 0 to 5 are Woodchips
- Children aged 6 to 9 are Elfins
- Young people aged 10 to 12 are Pioneers
- Young people aged 13 to 15 are Venturers
- Over 16s are District Fellows, generally known as DFs
