What happens next

Once we’ve received your referral form

  1. We’ll review it and update you on the next steps. You may need to wait for an OT assessment, and we might signpost you to other relevant services.
  2. If your child needs an assessment, their case will be allocated to a member of the team when possible and they’ll contact you to arrange the assessment.
  3. Following the assessment, we might:
  • provide advice on different ways your child could complete tasks
  • provide specialist equipment on loan, and review as necessary
  • make recommendations for adaptations to your home
  • advise on moving and handling needs (lifting, moving and carrying your child)
  • support a need to move to more suitable housing
  • make referrals or signpost to other services or agencies
