The Short Breaks team is part of the Disabled Children and Young People Service (DCYPS), and is available for children and young people who:
- are aged 0-25
- are permanent residents of Greenwich
- AND have an Education, Health and Care plan
The Short Breaks team provide advice and support to families of disabled children, including access to the Greenwich Short Breaks Core Offer. These are services that provide disabled children and young people opportunities to spend time in the community, build independence and make friends, as well as help parents/carers to more effectively support their disabled children by providing them with regular breaks.
The team also supports with the review of specialist care packages for those known to the DCYPS Social Work team.
