Websites for organisations who support deaf children in London and the UK:

 

National Deaf Children’s Society The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) is a British charity dedicated to providing support, information and advice for deaf children and young people, their families and professionals working with them. It also has an international section (click Deaf Child Worldwide on their homepage to see it); and an excellent free helpline for families, click ‘helpline’ at the top of the homepage to see their contact details. 

The Buzz is a website for deaf young people aged 8 to 18 in the UK, run by the NDCS.

Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ear’s Fund A UK charity that aims to 'Brighten the lives of Deaf children'. Their work includes raising Deaf Awareness;

enhancing the sound acoustics in classrooms and school halls, for deaf children in mainstream schools through specialist equipment and materials, and providing resources and equipment to deaf children to support their emotional wellbeing. The charity is focussed on work in London, Surrey, Berkshire, and Hampshire. 

CYPAC, the Children and Young People’s Audiology Centre at St Thomas’s (many of the deaf children in Greenwich attend this centre)

The Hearing Implant Centre at St Thomas’s and The Evelina (most Greenwich children with hearing implants attend this centre)

BATOD, the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf  The professional association of teachers of the deaf in the UK.

 

The National Sensory Impairment Partnership NatSIP, the National Sensory Impairment Partnership is a partnership of organisations working together to improve outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment. The Royal Greenwich Sensory Service is a NATSIP member and actively contributes to some NATSIP workstreams

 

The Consortium for Research in Deaf Education (CRIDE) is a comprehensive survey of deaf education in the UK led by BATOD and some UK Universities that aims to collect, analyse and share data that allows a continuing focus on improvement of deaf children’s outcomes.
