Advocacy in Greenwich - Safe places
People with a learning disability in Greenwich have said they can feel scared, intimidated and unsafe when out in the community and do not know where to go for help if they need it. The Safe Places scheme means that people with a learning disability can easily identify a safe place to go to if they are feeling at risk and need help.
Places in the community such as shops, cafes, pubs and community buildings sign up to be a safe place and display a sticker in their window. People with a learning disability sign up to the scheme and get a Safe Place card that they will show to the Safe Place if they need help. If you have a learning disability and would like to sign up to get a safe place card please contact us.
