10 Week Basic Baking Training Course for Autistic Adults
2 tutors, one of whom is autistic, support a group of 4 autistic adults to learn simple baking skills. We cover how to make a Victoria Sandwich, small cakes, pastry, scones and olive bread (pizza). We also teach basic food hygiene such as personal hygiene, cleaning and cross contamination.
The sessions run throughout the year for 10 weeks for each group of people. Sessions are 3-6pm each Wednesday.
These sessions would be suitable for autistic adults of any age who have an interest in baking and who are looking to gain experience for their CVs . We aim to produce cakes for sale in the cafe of the community centre.
We also aim to produce food for occasional events such as fairs and charity events.
