You can get support for: 

• all children aged 0-5 
• children with low and emerging special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)  
• children with specialist or complex support needs 

Universal support for children aged 0 to 5 with SEND

Our universal services are designed to support all children. We offer support including: 

• advice on childcare options 
• services available in children’s centres including family support and health services for children under 5 and their families 
• health visitors for babies and children up to the age of 4 
• funded early learning from ages 2 to 4 
• support to private, voluntary or independent (PVI) sector early years providers

Our Early Years Area Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCos)

As part of our universal support offer to PVIs, we have assigned Area SENCos across Royal Greenwich. 

Area SENCos give general advice, support and training around early identification and special education needs and disabilities. 

All early years providers that receive funding for free early learning will have an Area SENCo. 

Additional support for children aged 0-5 with SEND

If your child needs additional support above what is provided as part of universal services, we may be able to offer targeted support.  

This can be support from: 

• the Early Years Inclusion Service (EYIS)
• the Autism Outreach team
• the Sensory Services team

You can also get support from other local organisations in Royal Greenwich.
