Age UK Bromley and Greenwich - Greenwich Befriending Service
Greenwich Befriending Service offers a vital lifeline to older residents who would otherwise feel lonely and socially isolated.
Our trained and vetted Befriending Volunteers provide companionship and support through home visits, telephone befriending and in local friendship groups.
One to One Befriending - for people who find it difficult to get out and about and offers home visits one day per week at times convenient to clients, including weekdays and weekends.
Clients and befrienders share a chat together and perhaps a cup of tea, whilst playing scrabble, or doing something else of interest together.
Befrienders may also accompany clients on short trips out together to increase confidence and social wellbeing.
Telephone Befriending – offers regular calls from a Greenwich befriending volunteer for a chat and companionship over the phone.
Friendship Groups (Social Hubs) – for people who can get out and about and would like to widen their social circle. There are opportunities to socialise, make new friends and take part in fun activities. Come and join us for a change of scene, good company, and a warm welcome.
